Lunar New Year is often wrongly seen as solely a Chinese holiday, which overshadows the unique traditions of countries like Vietnam. This infographic was created to raise awareness of Vietnamese Tết and normalize the broader use of the term “Lunar New Year.”

Through cultural storytelling, real data, and playful visuals—like a meme-inspired Cat vs. Rabbit zodiac—the design highlights both the similarities and distinctions between Vietnamese and Chinese celebrations. Styled like a traditional Vietnamese hand-torn calendar and illustrated in an authentic art style, it walks viewers through key customs and spending habits during the holiday.

An animated version adds movement and life, making the experience more engaging and accessible. This project aims to educate and celebrate Tết as a vibrant, distinct part of the global Lunar New Year.
